Utah Dixie Detachment #1270 is sponsoring a FREE BREAKFAST at the St. George Elks Lodge (630 W. 1250 N.) on Saturday 8 November 2014 beginning at 0830. South Korean Victory Medals
To All Detachment Marines who served in Korea 25 June 1950 - 27 July 19531. Bill and I attended an award ceremony where representatives from the South Korean Embassy presented over 150 medals to any serviceman who served in Korea during the time indicated.
2. Since there may be some in the Detachment who were unaware of the award ceremony and would like to receive a medal, the Detachment has been assured that if we collect the following information from members of the Detachment who served during the time element indicated, an appropriate award will be provided.
3. Information requested:
a. Copy of DD 214 indicating dates served.
b. Individual must sign their name and address on the back of the submitted DD 214.
c. Submit the DD 214 to the Commandant for processing.
4. Any questions?

Looking for a Drummer Boy
To All:
Our current Drummer, Terry Hansen, has built another
DRUM. We are looking for volunteer(s) to
adopt this drum and help Terry as he tries desperately to keep Marines in step
as they march.
Qualifications:
1. Desire
2. Ability to
count to four (one, two three, four)
3. Has a little rhythm in their system
4. Can participate in parades
All applications will be seriously considered by the
Marching Committee.

Saturday November 1st 0850
Raise colors for the Clay Shooting event
Muster time is 0800 if you want breakfast; 0830 for practice
Uniform is ceremonial
Need 4 or 5 volunteers, plus bugler
Directions.....turn left at the cowboy shootout, right near
the rifle range at Purgatory, go almost a mile on dirt road until you see large
building out in the middle of no where.
Tuesday November 11th 0900
Sunriver Veterans Honor Park ceremonies
Raise colors and provide firing detail
Need at least 8 Marines for this event plus bugler and
drummer
Muster time is 0830, uniform is ceremonial
Practice is the day before Monday the 10th 0900
Directions...come down main road into SunRiver, turn right
on Big River Rd., it runs into park.
Tuesday November 11th Washington City Parade 1111 hours
This parade is short, only 6 or 7 blocks, should be able to
make right after SunRiver ceremonies.
Muster time is 1030 in ceremonial uniform or... red polo
shirts, cap, black trousers and shoes.
Location for start of parade is 300 East 300 North in
Washington City, same starting point of all their parades. We can accommodate
all League members on this one, especially Terry our drummer.
