17 Dec 2019 - Coins for Kids and Toys for Tots
KONY
KIDS NIGHT COMING UP!!! This is our
annual shop for toys, package the toys at the checkout lanes, and load the sacks
of toys into a trailer. We need about 20
Marines to assist with these duties at the Washington Walmart from 5:00 p.m. to
9 p.m. on December 17. The “cash” part
of this program for kids is Coins for Kids sponsored by KONY. They register and qualify the families. They take the cash and spend it at Walmart,
we package it and send it off on trucks and trailers to be taken to the Dixie
Center where the purchased presents end up co-mixed with our Toys for Tots
items.

November Montly Meeting is Early
The next meeting of the Dixie
Detachment 1270 is next Saturday November 2 at the Elks Lodge. This is a
week earlier than normal so mark it on your calendar or put it in your
smart phone with an alert to remind you. 0830 for breakfast, 0900
the business meeting begins.
Our speaker is Paige
Butas. She will give us some tips on how to secure our computers from
hackers, fraudsters, and other vermin of mischief who seem to have nothing to
do but make other peoples' lives miserable! Steve Handy will also give a
few tips on personal safety and awareness.
See you in a week -
