Marine Corps Birthday
We are all invited to a cake cutting ceremony to honor the Marine Corps birthday tomorrow at noon on the DSU campus. The location is right outside the Vet's Center which is in the lower level at the Dunford Theater. If you go please wear your league polo shirt and cover or your color guard uniform. Bearpaw and I went last time and it was a wonderful ceremony. Plus the cake was great! I'll be there to meet Marines and FMF Navy students as candidates for one of our scholarships.

Gunnery Sergeant Rick Massey
Rick was a Charter Member of the Detachment and the supervisor for the Toys For Tots program in Southern Utah. This is a tremendous blow to Rick's family and friends and his death will change the dynamics of Toys For Tots and our Detachment for a long time to come.
Please stand-by for further word as to a graveside Honor Guard request from Rick's family. I urge you to keep Rick in your heart and your prayers today. He was one of the finest, most honorable and dedicated Marines you will ever meet in your life.
"Fair Winds and Following Seas," Gunny Massey.
