11 Nov 2015 - Coray Canyon Elementary Visit
To All from Commandant Grisier:
I went to the
post office today to mail some letters and while there I found four (4) letters
addressed to the Commandant Marine Corps League, P.O. Box 553, St George UT
from children attending the Coral Canyon Elementary School. While the
envelopes were addressed by the children, inside was a form letter addressed to
"Dear Veteran." It read as follows:
Dear
Veteran, At our
school, Coral Canyon Elementary, the fifth grade is preparing our songs for singing
in the Veterans Parade and to our Veterans that we do every year. We have
been learning of the many sacrifices you made for all of us and we wish to honor you on this special day. I
would like to invite you to our school for
our Veterans Day Program on November 11, 2015, at 2:30 pm, Coral Canyon
Elementary, 3435 East Canyon Crest Avenue, Washington, UT.
Respectfully,
Each
letter included the name of the child that sent the letter, they are: Phoebe
Galicia, Edyson Hernandez, Laken Smith, Carson Wood.
I realize that
we have a parade on the 11th. The
parade should be over by 0930. I would
appreciate if at least four Marines
could join with me and attend the Coral Canyon Elementary School to recognize
and personally thank the children for their letters and their patriotism.
Uniform will be ceremonial or red shirt/black trousers.
A sign-up sheet
is attached at the top of this post.
