The Southern Utah Veterans Home (SUVH) will host a community
dedication ceremony on Thursday, June 11, 2015, with ribbon cutting, in
recognition and appreciation of the local Marine Corps Detachment #1270 for
their generous donation of a salt water aquarium. The dedication ceremony will be held on site
at their Ivins campus at 2:00 p.m., said Jaqueline Peterson, State Officer,
Utah Department of Veterans & Military Affairs. “I personally would like to thank the Marine
Corps League for their generous donation of the salt water aquarium. The residents of the Southern Utah Veterans
Home enjoy spending hours watching the fish and are so thankful to the Marine
Corps League for this wonderful donation.”

The new aquarium is a beautiful addition to the two-year-old
state of the art facility. “We strive to
create a welcoming, home-like setting for our residents and visitors, and now,
thanks to the Marine Corps League, we are able to enhance our campus atmosphere
for the pleasure and enjoyment of our resident family members,” explained Jerry
Olson, Administrator, Southern Utah Veterans Home.
For Marines possessing the ceremonial uniform (white shirt/ blue trousers)
please wear this uniform. For Marines
who do not possess the ceremonial uniform, the red shirt/black trousers is
acceptable. For Marines who at this time
have neither uniform, your attendance is still desired.
